Make a Lasting Difference for Palmer
If you love Palmer and want to make it even better for future generations, this might be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
PCF needs community-minded, action-oriented folks to help us achieve our mission of creating resilience and self-reliance in the greater Palmer area from Knik to Glacier View. We’re currently looking for four advisory board members to help shape the future of philanthropy in our region.
What Do We Actually Do?
At PCF, our mission is simple but powerful:
We’re building a permanent endowment for Palmer and the surrounding Matanuska River watershed communities. The donations we receive aren’t spent, they’re invested forever. Each year, the interest earned goes back into the community as grants for local nonprofits doing meaningful work.
Why Join the Advisory Board?
Because it feels good to give back.
Because we need local leaders who care.
Because small groups of committed people have always been the ones to make the biggest difference.
As a board member, you’ll help guide local philanthropy, connect with neighbors and nonprofits, and grow a legacy that will benefit our area long after we’re gone.
This is a working board, which means we roll up our sleeves. Whether it’s selecting nonprofits to receive annual grants, planning events and community workshops, or writing thank-you cards, we all pitch in.
The Details:
- Time Commitment: ~10–15 hours/month
- Meetings: 3rd Wednesday of the month, 5:30–7:00 PM in Palmer (hybrid option available)
- Committees: Every member serves on at least one (Events, Communications, or Stewardship)
- You Might: Plan a fundraiser, staff a booth at local event, write a blog post, or meet with a nonprofit about their needs
We’re Looking For People Who:
- Live in the Greater Palmer area (Butte, Lazy Mountain, Gateway, Sutton, Chickaloon, Glacier View, or Knik)
- Care deeply about our community
- Have experience (or interest) in fundraising, event planning, board development, or community outreach
But mostly, we’re looking for folks who want to make a lasting difference in the place we call home.
This Is Bigger Than Just One Person
When you serve on the PCF board, you’re helping to build a financial foundation that the Palmer area can lean on for decades. You’re saying: I love this place. I believe in my neighbors. I want to give back.
