Access to the arts plays a vital role in building strong, vibrant communities. PCF is proud to support the Palmer Arts Council with a $5,000 grant to help sustain their Art for Fun program.
The Art for Fun program offers free, accessible classes in music, dance, theater, creative writing, and visual arts—all tailored specifically for teenagers in the Palmer area. These opportunities provide a much-needed outlet for self-expression at a time when arts education is becoming less available in schools. By focusing on this often-overlooked age group, the Palmer Arts Council is helping teens discover their voices, build confidence, and connect with peers across a range of backgrounds.
For many teens, opportunities like this just don’t exist outside of school. And with arts programs shrinking in schools, it’s more important than ever that we give students a space to create and feel seen.
The program is held at a walkable location near Palmer’s middle and high schools. The classes remove common barriers like cost and transportation ensuring that more students can participate, regardless of their circumstances.
The Palmer Arts Council has also brought together an incredible network of local partners, including teachers, arts professionals, and organizations like Mat-Valley Dance, Percussion in the Valley, and Valley Performing Arts. These artists and educators are generously sharing their time and talents to inspire the next generation by strengthening arts in our community.
The grant will help extend the Art for Fun program through the 2025–2026 school year by covering teaching stipends and materials. This continued support will ensure that even more students have the chance to explore the arts and develop lifelong creative skills.
We’re honored to support the Palmer Arts Council in their mission to make the arts accessible to all—and especially proud to help sustain a program that brings joy, inspiration, and opportunity to our community’s youth.
