Palmer Community Foundation (PCF) is very grateful to the Palmer Economic Development Authority (PEDA) for their generous donation of $20,000 to PCF’s Endowment Fund. PEDA is the driving force behind Palmer’s Friday Fling each summer. The summer market showcases locally grown vegetables, flowers, and other hand-made goods for sale by various vendors in downtown Palmer each Friday throughout the season. This contribution will be matched at 100% through partnership with The Alaska Community Foundation and Rasmuson Foundation; making the impact of PEDA’s contribution equal $40,000!
Palmer Community Foundation is a long-term endowment fund for the Palmer area. As an Affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation, PCF provides an infrastructure to administer and manage grant funding that is issued from endowment fund investment earnings. An Advisory Board comprised of local volunteers recommends grants to Palmer area nonprofits, leads efforts to support organizations within the community, and encourages individuals and businesses to invest in their community to make a significant positive impact now, and in the future.
Many thanks to Palmer Economic Development Authority for this philanthropic investment in the Palmer-area community! This, and other contributions to PCF, will help Palmer thrive and continue to be a wonderful place to live, work, play, learn, and retire for generations to come.
