Advisory Board Member Spotlight – Erin Dwyer

Originally from Eagle River, Erin spent more than a decade moving around the lower 48 trying to find a place to call home. During that time she had mailing addresses in 7 states, including a sailboat in the Puget Sound, took a road trip across the country, and hiked from one end of Oregon to the other. In the end, she couldn’t find any place more beautiful than Alaska. She took a part-time program manager position with Palmer Community Foundation as a way to get more involved in her new community and quickly became passionate about their mission to strengthen community by building a lasting endowment for the future.

After 4 years of supporting PCF’s incredible Advisory Board, Erin transitioned from program manager to a seat on the board. “I am proud of what PCF has accomplished since its founding in 2018. We have granted over $70,000 to 28 local nonprofits and raised almost a quarter of million dollars in FIVE YEARS! I can’t wait to see what we can do in the next 10.” Erin loves learning about our nonprofits and the amazing work they do in the community. She is honored to be a part of an organization that is growing an enduring legacy for this beautiful place we call home.

Erin and her husband live on Lazy Mountain with a beautiful view of Pioneer Peak. She spends her free time renovating their 1960s home, tending to an ever-growing number of plants, and spreading the word about Palmer Community Foundation
