Advisory Board Member Spotlight – Mike Liebing

Mike Liebing was born and raised in the Palmer area, with roots to before the arrival of the Colony (his grandfather homesteaded at King’s Lake in 1932). Mike attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering and also met his wife, Lois. For the last 32 years, Mike has worked for the Otis Elevator Company where he is the general manager for the State of Alaska.

“I have lived my entire life in this community and raised a family here.  I believe this is a wonderful place to live and work and believe that establishing the Palmer Community Foundation endowment will add to the quality of life. PCF can be a leader in civic, arts and philanthropic activities in Palmer.

I am excited at the opportunity we have to be a part of the Alaska Community Foundation Affiliate program.  The Affiliate program provides a roadmap to build and sustain a local endowment for future generations with assurances that it will be safeguarded and yield permanent returns. I am also excited to share the message with the greater community and see the awareness of the opportunity grow.”
